We're the UK's largest Digital, Retail and Commercial Bank with a focus on Helping Britain Prosper. We're innovating products that help transform customer journeys - making millions of people's lives simpler and better, all over the country, every single day. There's never been a better time to be part of change - help us reinvent the boundaries of banking, and we'll invest in your continued development, so you can craft your future career.

No day in Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risk is the same. We engage right across the Group, advising on ways to improve how we keep the bank safe, delight our customers and Help Britain Prosper. This means we work closely as a collaborative team and spend a lot of our time looking at different areas of the Bank and analysing data to help our teams and businesses.

We are a diverse group of people, who come from many different backgrounds. Whilst we celebrate these differences, we share a common vision to offer new insight, support and challenge to senior management.

It's no surprise then that we are looking for people who are up for challenge, have a thirst for ways to improve the business and themselves, love learning and are willing to be flexible. Your experience will be invaluable to us, whether it is already in a risk and compliance role, close to the customer in the business or in skills that support our future vision for the team. In return you can expect to get great development opportunities, be empowered to try new ways of working and an opportunity to work across many areas of the Bank.

So, we're looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for compliance risk and a comprehensive understanding of the UK Regulatory environment. Previous experience of working with/or at one of our regulators is preferred.
  • Has a thirst to improve, embrace new challenges and work flexibly, maintaining an understanding of emerging risks and areas of regulatory focus as they emerge and evolve.
  • Has the ability to assess and take a holistic view of risk and understand the importance of a healthy risk culture.
  • Is intellectually curious and has the ability to and apply effective thought leadership to produce insightful, high quality briefings, contact reports, advice and guidance to support the Group in managing and maintaining effective relationships with the regulators executing control and tailored support to senior stakeholder needs, adjusting style and message based on audience.
  • Has a flare for undertaking analysis to support the preparation of regulatory reporting concerning regulatory areas of focus, emerging risks, correspondence and key publications, highlighting the potential impact on future business strategy.
  • Has the ability to influence with impact, shaping the opinions and actions of key stakeholders, gaining their trust and commitment to the desired outcome and demonstrates an ability to build strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
  • Has an understanding of LBG's high level business strategy and priorities. Detailed understanding of emerging regulatory, customer and industry expectations and requirements.
  • Exhibits a good understanding of the Financial Services industry, its key drivers and our competitors.

With our breadth, reach and diversity, we provide excellent opportunities for career growth and development. You'll get plenty of support, and you'll be surrounded by people who empower you to take the initiative, build relationships and make it happen. Together we can make a positive difference to our customers, our colleagues and our communities!

You'll also receive a package that includes:

  • Discretionary bonus
  • Cash sum of 4% which you can exchange for a variety of benefits or simply take the cash
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension, where we'll give up to a max of 15%
  • Share plans
  • 30 days holiday (plus Public)

But more than that – we want to be a great place to work. We invest in our people, offering the best training and coaching, and by encouraging them to contribute to our leading corporate and social responsibility practices. We offer flexible working hours and days, under our Work Options scheme. This means that you can have a challenging and rewarding career, and still have an ideal work/life balance.

Flexible working is at the heart of our strategy. We’re re-imagining where, when, and how our people work, with new approaches designed to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and colleagues. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
