Our Team


Global Talent Management & Operations (GTM&O) is the connective tissue between on-air and digital series Talent and the global businesses of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to effectively and efficiently manage their business strategy, prioritize their activities outside of Production, align with Production, and optimize global operations.

As the Talent’s key relationship holder with WBD, GTM&O strategically manages relationships with Talent, their representatives, production and internal clients to onboard, coach, advocate, enhance, prioritize and leverage the Talent to drive business value for subscriptions, ratings, revenue, relationships, renewals and brands.

 

The Role


The Global Talent Management & Operations Specialist position offers operational support for the team and department for WBD International, with a focus on UK, ANZ and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe.

GTM&O serves to mentor on-camera Talent, advise the respective brands on all Talent related issues, trouble shoot Talent issues, and focus on the business of Talent branding to maximize their opportunities worldwide. This person will have a number of select Talent they are responsible for and manage on a day-to-day basis.

This person will also facilitate logistics for network and corporate events featuring Talent. They will be a partner to Talent Managers, Marketing, Events, Corporate, etc. to staff and manage on-ground communications, operations and logistics.


Responsibilities
 

  • Support GTM&O across WBD International, with a focus on UK, ANZ and WBD Sports Europe (Paris 2024 planning) working with the London-based VP of Talent Management and Talent Manager with operational needs and client requests.
  • Coordinate with the network of local Talent liaison leads to provide resources and share best practices.
  • Provide operational support to the wider GTMO team, including with budget management, year-end gifting, Top Talent reports and presentation creation.
  • Establish relationships with Talent, representatives and internal/external clients and manage expectations, communications and feedback between those parties regarding requests for Talent services.
  • Support Talent Manager with onboarding materials to coach and support on-camera Talent on their role with WBD and the business’ expectations.
  • Support Talent Manager on Talent crisis mitigation and management.
  • Support WBD Sports Europe’s initiative to identify and promote new and diverse Talent, including researching potential new Talent, leveraging and developing relationships with educational institutions and building presentations, case studies and guidelines to support all markets across Europe.
  • Support the roll-out of a new process for WBD Sports Europe, whereby VP Talent Management approves, tracks and centralizes all local on-screen Talent engagements for Paris 2024
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders looking to leverage Talent, including Production, Production Management, Direct-to-Consumer,
  • Business Affairs, Ad Sales, Security, Marketing, Communications, Digital and Social.
  • Attend internal meetings to learn, contribute, represent and report back priorities and plans to support promotion and related Talent requests.
  • Book and manage Talent for non-production needs (e.g. events, shoots etc).
  • Manage names and likeness approval process and advise internal stakeholders on approval requirements, understanding contract terms and relationship nuances.
  • Prepare briefing materials for Talent.
    Follow and monitor Talent Social Media profiles and raise timely red flags with appropriate internal partners.
  • Input and maintain Talent information in WBD’s confidential Talent database, including bios, social media handles/numbers, contract information, representations, brand use, anecdotal information, etc.
  • Stay across non-production payments and be the liaison between the Talent and Discovery’s financial department.
  • Track milestone in Talents’ personal and professional lives and manage gifting programme for WBD UK and International Sport Talent.
  • Contribute content for regular reports and special requests
  • Process expenses for the UK-based Talent Management team.
  • Team assistant duties including booking meeting rooms, organising meetings, setting up VCs.
