As part of the product team of the GST data platform, you will be instrumental in engaging with our clients by communicating our product proposition, articulating the business demands back to the team and participating to the product vision and priority setting with the senior product manager
What you'll do
The Technical Product Manager is not just a liaison but a recognised partner between our engineering teams and our external stakeholders.
This role demands a dynamic individual who possesses depth in data technology, passion for evangelism, an understanding of business needs and the finesse to navigate the complexities of varying stakeholder needs. The ideal candidate is an influencer, a feedback gatherer, and a strategic promulgator of our platform's pioneering capabilities.
Platform Advocacy: Champion the data platform's capabilities and potential, ensuring all stakeholders understand and can leverage its features for efficient benefit. You're not just explaining technical details; you're translating them into business impacts. You will maintain a catalog of our feature portfolio in collaboration with our product analysts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders from data producers and consumers to product managers analysts and data scientists, fostering a two-way conversation to both capture comprehensive feedback and consistently promote platform enhancements.
Technical Product Management: Serve as the conduit for product information, funneling stakeholder feedback to the engineering team with the clarity and functional detail necessary for actionable responses. Your articulation of stakeholder needs will directly influence the platform's evolution. You will produce requirements and collaborate with our technical analysts and engineering community.
Feedback Integration: Analyze stakeholder feedback, market trends, and internal data, transforming them into technical requirements and new product features that align with business goals. You're not just collecting data; you're deriving insight that propels innovation. You will extend lesson learned and strength from a successful feature to our entire portfolio.
Prioritization: Ensure continuous alignment between business needs and engineering backlog, you will own product responsibilities of some of our features portfolio. Your ability to increasingly understand the business priorities will help you to convey them to our technical analysts and senior engineering.
Customer journey: This role involves improving customer journey, content discoverability, and user retention, informed by market analysis and customer feedback. You'll be focused on competitive offering and user engagement, ensuring the platform retains relevance and appeal for data producers and data consumers alike, against some of the features you will own.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in technical product management, particularly in data-intensive environments, with a strong understanding of data streaming, analytics, and related technologies.
Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud platform services, data collection, data models, schemas, data warehouses and big data models, ETL, API and reporting and analytics processes.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, capable of translating user feedback and market trends into actionable product improvements.
Demonstrable experience in leading cross-functional teams, uniting engineering, data science, finance, and more around a single vision.
A passion for evangelism, with the ability to inspire and educate both technical and non-technical audiences about the platform's capabilities - leading product workshops and communicate to an audience.
This role requires strong empathy for the user experience, skills in market research, and ability to feedback to analysts and engineering with actionable requirements.
Nice to have:
Experience with platform productization initiatives, such as B2B platform-as-a-service model, that could include self-services and automated services.
Experience with product marketing and go to market of B2B platform services.
Experience with SQL, data sciences and data analysis
Experience with team management of analysts or product managers
Good understanding of data security, quality, compliance, protection, and policies

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
