Job Title: Senior Engineer - Mechanical (Propulsion)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Bristol - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements

Salary: Competitive

What you'll be doing:

    Undertaking functional design activitiesProducing evidence of qualification, legislative requirements and safety justificationsProviding assurance that the design is adequateSupporting specification qualification and procurement of componentsUndertaking peer reviews / checking when required

Your skills and experiences:

    Experience in the design and development of fluid systems, pressure vessels rotating and/or machineryUnderstanding of general engineering standards and processesHonours Degree or equivalent experience in relevant discipline Experience in one of the following: Turbo-machinery design/Gearing design/ Pressure Vessel design/ Fluid systems design/ Electrical machine design

The Propulsion team:

As a part of the Propulsion team, you will be involved in the design and development of the propulsion plant across all major systems and equipment alongside specifying and supporting the procurement of all propulsion equipment.

This role provides a unique opportunity to be involved at the early stages of design, helping to shape and drive the design forward. You will be working with a broad range of key stakeholders including the MoD and, with an expanding team, there will be clear opportunities for career progression.
