Business/Finance Manager - Weymouth & surrounding area - GBP41,418 - GBP46,464This is a wonderful opportunity to join a team who provide direct support to six schools which covers Weymouth and the surrounding area. As a key member of the management team, you will be contributing at a strategic level to the financial planning, resource management, staffing, systems, marketing, and site management for the schools.Key responsibilities: Contribute to the development of the Business Plan, including the long-term strategy for the future development of the academies- Preparation of academy budgets, including the provision of accurate budgets, forecasts and projections- Develop appropriate financial plans as required for submission and the preparation of financial records of the Academies for examination by external bodies- Responsible for the monitoring and management of funds, grants and other additional income allocated to the Academies- Oversee risk management, including ensuring all necessary risk assessments are completed and the necessary checks are in place to meet all audit requirements- Management of H&S liaising with Head Teachers- Responsible for completion of recruitment exercises for non-teaching staffThe jobholder needs the ability to undertake a range of advanced activities requiring detailed financial knowledge, accounting and budgeting, the utilisation of ICT software, premises issues and skills in staff supervision and presentation of reports.And will also have:-Experience in financial and people management, ideally but not necessarily within an education setting, budgeting and forecasting should be second natureSound accounting and financial systems skillsGood communication skills with both adults and childrenAble to supervise and oversee staffIf you have the following it would be desirable:-School Business Management qualification or equivalent accounting and/or financial management qualificationsIRIS Financials and IMP Budget Tool user knowledgeThe role will be based in Weymouth, but there will be a requirement to travel to 5 other sites on occasion - therefore a driving licence and own car will be essential for the postOther information/benefits:- Supportive and friendly team environment Opportunities for flexible working arrangements potential Access to generous Pension Scheme and other staff benefits Collaborative Professional Learning development opportunitiesSalary c41-46k DOEHours: 37 hours per week (Mon to Fri)Term time hours or a part-time working pattern may be consideredIdeally you will be available to start in March
