Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Police Headquarters, Exeter

Salary: Grade 7 - Starts at GBP34,968 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of GBP39,036 per annum

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Role

As the Business Intelligence Developer you would be responsible for working with key stakeholders to develop and deliver Business Intelligence applications within the organisation. You would be working in collaboration with colleagues across policing, partner organisations, government, academia, and industry to develop business intelligence applications and provide specialist advice and guidance. As a 'hybrid worker' you would have the HQ in Exeter as your base with the choice of working from home up to 3 days a week. Skills &Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science, computer programming or related subjects or qualified by equivalent practical experience.
  • Evidence of previous experience of working in Business Intelligence. Including demonstrable skills of extracting, transforming, and loading data from source systems.
  • Demonstrable skills in the use of relational and multidimensional databases, strong database query language skills and report/app developments skills, in QlikView and Qlik Sense or similar technology.
  • Ability to test and quality assure, to diagnose and rectify faults in technical systems and data sets.
  • In depth understanding and experience in the application of Data Protection regulations, Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and security of data in line with Government Security Classification (GSC).
