About this opportunity
Would you like to work for us and help local businesses of all types and sizes to prosper by offering the funding, support and encouragement they need to grow?

This is an opportunity for a Relationship Director for our SME business where clients will typically have a turnover of between 10 million and 25 million pounds and will operate within our Trading Sectors business. You’ll have a portfolio of SME clients based in and around Somerset.

Joining the Dorset & Somerset SME Team, which forms part of a wider South team within our Commercial Bank, you’ll be responsible for supporting clients with all their banking needs including lending, deposits and a wide range of other services. There is an expectation to grow the portfolio so you’ll be promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers in the local community to develop business opportunities and bring more clients to Lloyds Banking Group.

As well as this you’ll be responsible for handling the risk and compliance of the portfolio.
As a senior colleague in the team, you’ll be an ambassador for change, an early adopter of tools designed to improve the client and colleague experience and support your wider team and region to achieve their objectives.

As a Relationship Director you'll typically be involved with the following:
  • Providing excellent service to our Clients, putting them at the heart of what you do, adding new value at every interaction and becoming a “trusted advisor”
  • Promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers through your knowledge of the local market
  • Providing a range of funding solutions to our clients from our Term Lending and Working Capital product range tailoring them to Client needs
  • Building relationships with Group Partner companies and through them bring the whole bank to the client delivering products to meet their needs.
  • Handling the risk and compliance of your client portfolio

Company

We’re creating an organisation that attracts, retains and develops the best talent in the industry, and one that openly embraces diversity too. But more than that – we want to be a great place to work. We invest in our people, offering the best training and coaching, and by encouraging them to contribute to our leading corporate and social responsibility practices. We offer flexible working hours and days, under our Work Options scheme. This means that you can have a challenging and rewarding career, and still have an ideal work/life balance.

Flexible working is at the heart of our strategy. We’re re-imagining where, when, and how our people work, with new approaches designed to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and colleagues. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
