About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, curious, and inspiring individual to lead a team of fourteen colleagues to deliver high quality planning, performance reporting, analysis and decision support for the Cards and Loans businesses.

The bank is continuing to deliver its exciting growth strategy, and it is a pivotal time to join the Consumer Lending Finance Team as you will provide support to the Business Partner Team and the Business directly on new product and service initiatives as we continue to enhance and develop the Retail product offering in the UK market.

This Senior Manager role sits within the Retail Performance Management and Insight Team which supports the full range of products within the Retail Bank and provides the opportunity for exposure to increase your breadth of knowledge across these products.

Day to day you’ll be;
  • Leading, developing, and championing your team to deliver a high-performance mentality and encouraging them to embrace stretching development objectives.
  • Building strong working relationships with Finance Business Partners supporting the Cards and Loans Business.
  • Delivering forecasts, budgets and four-year operating plan numbers and financial story boards
  • Providing focused financial analysis to support the Cards and Loans businesses in achieving their financial goals.
  • Ensuring the team maintain high standards in use of accurate data and robust modelling techniques whilst meeting Finance risk and control requirements.
  • Building a wide network of contacts across Finance and the business, with collaboration between teams being the key to your success in the role.
  • Responding to individual and team objectives and invest in improving personal performance by growing own skills and capabilities and coaching others.

About us

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.

What you’ll need
  • Be curious - do not accept the status quo. Challenge the way we currently do things and look for ways we can improve them.
  • Be able to work collaboratively and enjoy working with stakeholders from different areas.
  • Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience of leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you can both challenge and support senior customers.

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
