Job title: Enabling Services - Design Engineer

Location: Warton - Onsite

Salary: £41,361 - £45,576 (Commensurate with skills and experience)


What you'll be doing:

  • This is a design based role, responsible for the Scheming, estimating, detailed design and stressing of models, Test Artefacts, tooling and other associated test equipment as required by our customers (Internal and External)
  • You will also work with the model engineers to create tooling and Programmes for a variety of NC machines
  • You will be expected to deliver tasks to budget and ensure compliance with local QMS processes
  • There will be opportunities to support activities across our parent Test & Evaluation organisation where workload allows
  • Working in Ground Test & Evaluation, Enabling Services, you will play a key role in supporting current and future airborne platforms


Your skills and experiences:


  • HND /HNC or equivalent evidenced experience in a related engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5 / CAD
  • Experience of one of the following: Mechanical design / Integration / Production /Aerodynamics / Systems Engineering
  • Understanding of materials
  • Experience in additive manufacturing techniques

The Design and Manufacturing Team:

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the Enabling Services, Design and Manufacturing Team, for a Design Engineer.

The Design and Manufacturing Team works across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept to in service and onto disposal. Working with cutting edge technology and on multiple projects, they will deliver the future capabilities of next generation combat aircraft, ensuring design targets are met and Wind Tunnel programmes are achieved.

The role will involve supporting and playing an active role in a team responsible for delivering engineering tasks across Ground T&E, mainly supporting aircraft design & development, capability sustainment and research & development. The holder will also likely be asked to support activities across our parent Test & Evaluation organisation where workload demands.
