Job title: Tax Manager

What you'll be doing:

  • Facilitate best in class adoption of tax technology including generative AI tools, GMT technology tools and robotic process automation
  • Support on day to day tax compliance requirements across a range of taxes, with a focus on UK CT filings
  • Assist the Head of Tax Reporting during the reporting cycle
  • Develop an understanding of the business and Finance Operations function to ensure a collaborative approach to tax compliance
  • Support on tax compliance process including Global Minimum Tax compliance
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset to tax operations and operational processes particularly around Tax Technology and its relevance to BAE
  • Review & monitor tax compliance filing and payment obligations
  • Support on tax compliance process implementation and changes
  • Ensure compliance with tax governance requirements
  • Actively manage CPD, ensuring a good breadth of technical and power skills
  • Support the Senior Accounting Officer certification across the taxes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Required expertise in tax compliance across a range of taxes with knowledge of tax compliance filings and payment requirements
  • Familiarity with using technology to optimise processes
  • Background in tax reporting under IFRS
  • Proficiency in liaising with tax authorities and senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in an in-house tax team or in a professional tax services firm
  • External tax network required as a means to stay up to date as a best-in-class advisor

The Head Office Tax team:

 

Reporting to a Senior Tax Manager, the role of the Tax Manager is pivotal to both the tax team and to the broader organisation. You will be working within the Tax Capability Centre as a tax generalist focusing on UK corporation tax but also to include international corporation tax management, RDEC, UK and overseas VAT and customs activity. You will gain involvement in the delivery of process improvements as part of a wider finance modernisation programme and significant changes in the tax landscape.
