Role Description
The Statutory Reporting Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and on time delivery of the relevant financial statements within the Transport business unit of Booking.com. The individual will be the key point of contact for the audit team and be accountable for driving forward the audit and ensuring requests are delivered in a timely manner.
These responsibilities will also include preparing any appropriate technical accounting papers, the draft version of the financial statements including notes, managing the review process with the auditors and ultimately obtaining the director level sign off.
The individual will be expected to have a working understanding of the full balance sheet and P&L and will be involved in other areas of the month end close as necessary.
Key Respsonibilities
- Accountable for the first draft of the financial statements including all relevant reports and notes.
- Preparation of technical accounting papers to address items such as provisions/judgements,
implementation of new accounting standards, dividends etc. - Responsible for managing the audit review process including maintaining a good working
relationship with auditors and tracking and driving the closure of review points. - Work to the overall audit plan, completing deliverables to deadline, flagging any risk areas
immediately and ultimately getting the director level sign off of the financial statements. - Have a working understanding across the whole balance sheet and P&L in order to ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied.
- Involved in other areas of the month end finance process as necessary e.g. balance sheet review and control review
Skills & Experience
- ACA qualified (preferred), would consider ACCA for the right candidate
- x1 years post qualification experience preferable
- Experience of preparing and delivering
financial statements under UK GAAP - Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
- Solution oriented and result driven
- Accountable and proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task; flexible attitude
- Language: English
