You and Your Team:
As a Lead MI Developer, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the business’ performance by building and producing daily, weekly and monthly dashboards, which will enable senior stakeholders to measure the health of the business.
You will be the lead developer for all regulatory reporting requirements. Mapping and recording processes and procedures and making process improvement suggestions will also be a key feature of this role.
In your day-to-day role, as a Lead MI Developer, you will:

- Provide support and advice to other members of the MI team.
- Review code accuracy, functionality and adherence to standards.
- Create process documentation.
- Create solutions and code that set the benchmark and that other team members can aspire to.
- Understand that building good solutions is adapting theory to fit the needs of the customer, codebase, team, tools, and organization.
- Understand how VBG and its customers work, what their values are, and why these are both important for success.
- Understand the role of a Lead MI Developer is to provide solutions to problems, not just write code. Because of this you will always think of what you are doing in terms of how much value it brings to the organisation.
- Be prepared to explore new techniques and coding patterns.
- Work within established development guidelines, standards, methodologies, and naming conventions.
What will make you stand out?
- Experience of working in a Management Information role within an operational environment.
- Strong analytical and statistical/mathematical background.
- Experience working with a consumer credit/lending portfolio or in the non-standard market is desirable although not essential.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including ability to interpret user requirements and offer potential advancements.
- Educated to degree level in an IT related discipline and/or can show equivalent technical experience.
The interview process:
Our average process takes up to 4 weeks but we will always work around your availability. You will have the chance to speak to our recruitment team throughout the process.
As this role involves working within a regulated environment any offer will be subject to satisfactory background checks including criminal record check, credit check, fraud check and employment references.
Your working life: If you prefer to work part-time, we'll make this happen whenever we can - whether this is to help you meet other commitments or strike a great work-life balance. A fear of losing your current working flexibility shouldn't hinder you from applying for new opportunities, which is why we aim to match your existing flexible working arrangements where possible.
