Support Worker roles

Most of our job opportunities are within our care settings where we support people with sensory impairments to communicate and connect with the world – this can be an amazing and rewarding experience.

The role of the support worker is to help someone to live the life that they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will help individuals to run their own lives as much as possible – helping with personal care, supporting someone to rustle up some breakfast, do the weekly shop or take part in Sense’s arts and sports activities.

We don’t require you to have experience to apply for one of our Support Worker roles. For us it’s more important that you have the right personal qualities and values, and are keen to learn. You need to be reliable, caring, a good listener and enjoy working with all sorts of people.

If you were appointed we would make sure you get the right support and training and receive a thorough   induction. The key ingredient for this job is you – your personality, talents and commitment.
