The Mini Athletics product is universally appealing to children (aged 2 – 7 years) and their parents. Through three progressive classes, children go on a fantastic journey in athletic movement. They are introduced to the basics of athletic skills (fundamental to their early physical development) in a play based yet structured format. In addition, the classes build cognitive and social skills, preparing them for the early learning goals.
I was looking for an athletics class for my daughter and was unable to find anything locally for younger children. I came across Mini Athletics!
I love the ethos behind Mini Athletics – to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for children, all whilst educating them and having fun. I also wanted to run a business that I would be supported in and be part of a team.
Mini Athletics provides fanchisees with a lot of support and guidance which is invaluable when setting up and running your own business, albeit allowing me to have my own flexibility in terms of when we run classes.
I have owned my business since October 2018 and we launched our classes at the end of January 2019. I won’t lie, it has been hard work but the hard work is paying off! I love seeing the children in our classes having a brilliant time and being told that they talk about our classes all week at home. It is so motivating!
I am building a coaching team which will mean further expansion of the business and ultimately mean that Mini Athletics is available to more and more children in our local area.
It is hard to pick one thing so I’ve chosen two! I love the fact that we are helping to keep children active and healthy, especially in a time when childhood obesity is becoming more and more of a problem.
We are helping to create lifestyle choices that they will hopefully maintain.
From a personal point of view, the flexibility and fulfilment this business gives me is invaluable. It allows me to spend all the time I’d like to with my young family whilst also allowing me to earn a living. It is hard to find a role that allows such flexibility.
I have finally found a business that I know I can make a success all whilst having three young children with a lot of demands! I do work several evenings a week and weekends but it allows me the time in the day to do the school/nursery run, attend assemblies and plays etc. I currently coach a number of our classes but this will change as our team expands.
Totally! Mini Athletics is a fantastic company to be part of. The support network is great, you have full control over how fast/slow you grow your business and the rewards are worth the hard work. I am so excited to be part of a company that provides an opportunity for children to be healthy, confident, resilient and happy!
