The Award, which is nominated and voted for by members of the public, is part of the Workingmums.co.uk’s Top Franchise Awards which highlights the best practice in flexible business models.
As well as the Franchisee of the Year, the Awards recognise franchisors both big and small who have empowered women in business – not only by providing a successful flexible business model, but by giving franchisees the advice and support they need to succeed.
Applications for the other four Award categories which are judged by a panel of experts open on 1st January and close on March 3rd.
The online ceremony, which takes place on 18th May, will include an awards presentation, a Q&A session and opportunities to network with peers. This event provides a great platform to celebrate passion and achievement within the franchise industry.
The Six Award Categories are:
Supportive Franchisor Award – to acknowledge franchises that offer the best advice and support to franchisees from the start of their journey and throughout.
Family Friendly Franchise Award – recognising the franchisor that offers the best Family Friendly concept.
The Franchise Award for Innovation – which will publicly acknowledge those franchisors who have continued to innovate and develop their offering as they have grown.
Best Newcomer Award – to recognise new flexible businesses that are growing fast, that are making themselves known in the marketplace and show great future potential.
Overall Top Franchise Award – which will be selected from all the above categories, and will take into account innovation, growth, support and the provision of a flexible business concept.
Franchisee of the Year Award – voted by the public to recognise franchisees for their achievements in the last 12 months. From exceptional customer service to overcoming challenges, the public will vote on the franchisee they feel deserves recognition. Nominate here.
Last year’s Overall Top Franchise Award winner was domestic homecare business Bright & Beautiful. It was praised for the policies it had in place to support ongoing improvement, including franchisee feedback panels and psychometric testing. The judges felt it was a role model for other franchises. All the winners feature in the Workingmums.co.uk Best Practice Report which aims to share what they do that makes them a successful flexible business model
Gillian Nissim, founder of Workingmums.co.uk, said: “The Awards affirm the growing number of parents who are looking towards self-employment for greater flexibility and new challenges which fit around their families. The best franchises offer both the benefits of self employment, but without some of the risks associated with striking out completely on your own, since franchisors have already demonstrated the viability of their business models.”
Keep an eye out for developments here.
