Applications have opened for O2’s second Career Returners programme for those with a background in technology who have taken a career break and want to return to work.
The 14-week paid returnship programme is open to men and woman who have taken a break of between two and 10 years from work and are looking to return. It gives 16 individuals the opportunity to use and grow their tech and business acumen as part of O2’s business, whilst also offering support to reintegrate participants into the working world.
It includes mentoring for participants from both O2 and Women Returners as well as regular training session to get participants up to speed on everything from digital tools to new time management practices. O2 is looking for people who want to work full time or four days a week, but with a great deal of flexibility. The programme takes place in Slough, beginning in October and applications close on 30th June.
O2 are looking for people with a wide range of skills including business development and relationship management, financial analysis and accounting to work in areas ranging from IT, Networks and Service Management to Business Operations, Customer Service and Transformation, Digital, Sales and Finance.
Ann Pickering, O2 HR Director, said: “Last year, we set ourselves the challenge of finding and supporting an untapped pool of talent; men and women who have taken career breaks. Many of these people are highly experienced, but lack the right opportunities and support they need to consider a return to the workplace. Through one-on-one mentoring and regular training sessions, the programme has been carefully curated to empower our returners to thrive within the business from day one.
After the programme’s first year eight of the 12 returners who took part went on to get senior roles at O2.
*O2 advises those who apply to clearly show their career break on their cv. There will be an assessment day on 11 July 2017 in Slough at O2’s Bath Road offices. Any queries please email: [email protected]. To apply, click here.
