Are you looking to earn money from home with an online job? Today there are more homeworking jobs than ever, as businesses become ever more used to people working remotely. Jobs and business opportunities that can be run online can range from being paid to take part in surveys, to becoming a self-employed customer service agent.
Online jobs, which are fully web based and done from home, suit many people’s circumstances and can help you juggle the challenge of earning money while taking care of your family. Some opportunities out there will be on a self-employed basis rather than on payroll, but the advantage of this is that you could take on more than one role to suit your circumstances.
Here’s a flavour of the types of roles that you can apply for:
‘Virtual’ assistant roles are very much on the rise, where you remotely perform administration tasks that might range from online filing and email management to looking after diary appointments. You’re usually part of a virtual team for a small business that wants to keep its costs to a minimum.
Today’s technology means that you don’t have to sit in a big call centre to help customers. We have many roles where you can speak to customers from home, at hours that suit you. The work can be both managing incoming calls or placing outbound calls to customers and contacts.
Many IT consultants are now home-based, and roles cover a broad range of specialisms from cloud computing to web development, technical support to systems analysis. There are opportunities to suit people with many kinds of IT experience.
There are lots of vacancies for experienced marketeers and communicators that are chiefly based at home, in both full- and part-time positions. Activity ranges from managing social media activity, drafting web content and press releases through to full ‘Head of Marketing’ responsibilities for a brand or company.
There are a growing number of recruitment agencies that rely on a network of home-based professionals. If you have experience in matching candidates to vacancies, this could be a great homeworking option. Opportunities can be fully home-based, or they might require travel to some meetings and interviews.
There are a broad range of homeworking roles connected to the retail sector. You could be a home- based sales professional that contacts customers nationwide; you could perform mystery shopping tasks on a variety of websites; or even be head of retail for a chain of charity shops. Some employers even take on telesales staff who can work entirely from home using the cloud – So if you confident selling, and have an internet connection, you can consider this as a viable option.
Legal homeworking roles include transcriptionists and audio typists, remote legal counsel, legal content writing and case management. If you have legal experience you should find a wide range of opportunities for online homeworking.
Many companies are seeking people to test products and take surveys at home and are willing to pay for your views. Often there is full flexibility about how much time you have to work and the number of surveys that you complete – you’re paid based on your level of completed research.
This is just a taster of the typical on online jobs and home-working opportunities that we regularly feature on workingmums.co.uk. Check back regularly to see the latest vacancies and apply. You can search homeworking jobs here.
