The second series of the workingmums and workingdads podcast, bringing mums and dads together to discuss all things working parent, launches today for Return to Work Week.
The new series of the podcast that brings together workingmums.co.uk and workingdads.co.uk is launching today with a new name and a new format.
Mums.Dads.Work is hosted by Mandy Garner, editor of workingmums.co.uk, and Ben Falk, editor of workingdads.co.uk. It’s the second series of the fortnightly podcast about all things working parent.
While the first was a conversation about the major working parents news stories and developments, the second includes a guest slot and this series those slots are focused on providing practical advice, from cv and interview techniques to flexible working rights, employment rights, setting up a business to changing career and career progression.
As part of workingmums.co.uk’s Return to Work Week, the first episode starts with an interview with Emma Alkirwi, founder of the CV Guru UK, who is a regular contributor to workingmums on all things associated with going back to work. Emma speaks to Ben and Mandy about the changes she has seen in the jobseeking process since launching her business in 2016, using ChatGPT to write cover letters and cvs, getting around ATS systems and what the main things people get wrong when they write their cvs or prepare for interviews, whether in person or online.
Ben and Mandy also chat about Return to Work Week, a series of webinars, films and online help which covers everything from self employment to finding the most flexible employers. Events run every day this week. Check out the timetable here for more details.
They also discussed the results of the annual workingmums.co.uk survey which was published on Friday and showed the impact the cost of living crisis is having on parents, with many taking on side businesses or more hours to make ends meet.
