Return To Work Week 25th - 29th September 2023

Looking to return to work after maternity leave or a short or longer spell out of the workplace? workingmums.co.uk is launching its first Return To Work Week to help parents connect with flexible employers who are looking to recruit and learn how to put their best foot forward in the application process, transition to a new career or sector or go it alone.

The Week runs from 25th to 29th September and will be centred around videos offering expert advice, and online events showcasing top employers. The Week also sees the launch of the Mums.Dads.Work podcast, with special guest Emma Alkirwi, aka the CV Guru talking about all things cv and interview preparation in episode one. Subsequent episodes include experts on flexible working, employment rights, self employment, career progression and career transition as well as news, analysis and reviews.

A theme for every day of the week

Every day of Return to Work Week will be themed. Monday, sponsored by Deutsche Bank Group, will be dedicated to step-by-step guidance for jobseekers, from help with the application process to in-depth interview insight.

It is followed by Tech Tuesday, sponsored by Tech Returners, for those looking to return to tech or thinking about tech as a future career. It will feature advice on which employers to target and the top returner programmes.

Work for Yourself Wednesday, sponsored by Stagecoach, will focus on ideas and advice for those who want to be their own boss, including becoming a franchisee.

Career Transition Thursday is for those looking for a career change while Flexible Working Friday will showcase the best flexible employers to work for as well as advice on how to submit a request for flexible working.

Those offering advice and options on getting into or back into technology include Tech Returners and Supermums. On self-employment there will be sessions from the likes of The Holiday Fixer, Pinot & Picasso and Smart PA as well as general advice on self employed options. And on cvs, Purple CV are lending their expertise.
