Single parents and single grandparents in England can join with another household from this weekend.
The Government has announced that, from this Saturday, single adult households and single parent households in England will be allowed to form a support bubble with one other household.
The Prime Minister said that means they can act as if they are one household, visit each other’s homes, stay overnight and don’t need to stay two metres apart – as long as they are not shielding.
However, they can only form a support bubble with one household. Boris Johnson stated: “They must be exclusive, meaning you can’t switch the household you are connecting with. And if any member develops symptoms, all members of the bubble would need to follow the normal advice on household isolation.”
He also said people would be able to stay with estranged partners and family members from this weekend.
He also confirmed that all shops will be allowed to re-open from Monday with some outdoors attractions, such as zoos, also allowed to re-open.
