Supporting the female pipeline

Dara Kirton is a people manager at Pwc as well as a mentor and coach. She set up a mentoring scheme at the firm to support students from under represented backgrounds (women, ethnic minorities and socially/economically deprived) to get into professional services. It works with a range of universities, charities and social enterprises that help us to identify students that PwC wouldn’t typically target through recruitment.

Her work saw her recognised with a Rising Star award by WeAreTheCity.com, a website which aims to provide information to professional women who wish to progress in their careers via networking and events.

The Rising Star award, which is currently open for nominations, recognises role models and future female leaders in a wide variety of sectors, women who are operating below a senior/middle management level who are champions of women in their business or sector, strive to achieve success and results, give back or inspire others and/or are recognised by others as having the potential to become a future leader in their industry.

WeAreTheCity.com is also looking for Rising Star Champions – senior leaders who are actively supporting the female pipeline. The award, sponsored by Oliver Wyman, is open to both male and females who currently hold senior positions within their organisations and who have demonstrated their support for gender either internally or externally.
