A potential new service for mums who want to get back into the workplace after having a career break is seeking information about the main barriers and what might help.
Elizabeth Hibbert is a mum in the fifth year of her career break after having two children. Her background is in recruitment advertising and communications. She says: “I am exploring going back to work and coming up against the issues faced by all women in this position.”
She is exploring whether to set up a service which helps women at the beginning of the process to give them the best chance of getting the job they want.
She has put together a survey and is seeking answers on a range of questions, from what are the biggest barriers to return to work to what might help, including the use of social media for careers networking and industry briefing packs with changes and developments in particular fields.
