Over a third of women feel trapped in the job they went on maternity leave from because they can’t find a new flexible job, according to the preliminary results of a Workingmums.co.uk survey.

The survey is running on the Workingmums.co.uk site until the end of the month. So far over 300 people have responded.

It will be published to coincide with International Women’s Day and in advance of Workingmums LIVE, a one-stop shop on all things flexible working, to be held in London on 27 March. The event will include a series of workshops on a range of issues relating to work life balance.

International Women’s Day’s theme this year is Connecting girls, inspiring futures.  The survey questions cover whether parents feel more can be done to make things easier for working mums in general to balance work and life in a more positive way and what messages they think children, particularly girls, are getting from the media, from their peers and from working mums about their future working lives.

Click here to take part.  Those taking part in the survey will be entered into into a free prize draw on 1st March 2012, to win a brand new Micro Flex Scooter, suitable for ages seven to adult, kindly donated by Micro Scooters Ltd, www.micro-scooters.co.uk.
