Can I get commission on maternity leave and still get MA?

I’m a self-employed teacher and am currently 22 weeks pregnant and need your advice regarding Maternity Allowance. I have set up another business and I retain commission from it. The first tax return from this business is due in early 2017. During the time of my maternity leave my husband has generously offered to do the paperwork and maintaining the client base of my second business, including invoicing clients and taking commission. I won’t actually doing any work myself. Is that allowed?

Many businesses receive commission or regular payments from clients  (e.g. repeat sales, service plans).

As long as you are not doing any paid work, you will be ok.
